Sammi Rastrelli is going back to her birthplace to run in college. Warsaw Athletics held a signing ceremony Monday afternoon for Rastrelli, who will attend DePaul University on the near north side of Chicago. "It's in the city, and I like the city," she explained. "I like Chicago, and the DePaul campus is close to the lake front." Sammi was born at Rush Hospital in the heart of the downtown. She says she had a big advantage by watching her older sister, Joey, go through this process over the last few years. "She was my role model," Sammi said. "She set a good path for me." Sammi encouraged her underclass teammates to "soak it all in" and to "slow down and take a look around". Sammi will be studying elementary education at DePaul. "I like to see people improve," she said. "I want to help people, especially young kids, make progress and have an impact on their lives."
