The Tiger boys wrestlers closed the regular season at Triton on Wednesday night and secured a 57-22 victory. Warsaw started off fast with wins by pin from Tristan Wood (106) and Ivahn Martinez (113). Judin Garza and Alex Vallejo took forfeits at 120 and 126 to stretch the lead to 24-0. Another pair of pins followed as Nolan Stump (132) and Gabe Veit (138) took care of business. Leo Castro’s win by forfeit at 144 pushed the lead to 42-0. Walker Perry filled in at 150 for the night and picked up a dominant 11-1 win by major decision. Zander Moore earned a win by tech-fall at 157 pounds to extend the lead to 51-0 before Triton would get on the board. The hosts picked up wins at 165, 175, 190, and 215 despite some good wrestling from the Tigers. In the final match of the night, Owens Corbin won by pin at 285 pounds to wrap up the team score at 57-22. The Tigers also won both of the JV matches that took place ahead of the varsity. Luki Juarez and Lucas Kimball both won by pin in those matches. Warsaw’s season record finished at 12-4. They will compete in the IHSAA Sectional at Plymouth next weekend.
