A free throw with :01.5 left in the game by Brogan Ferrell lifted NorthWood to a 31-30 conference win over the Tigers Friday in The Pit. After the Tigers missed a chance at a game-winning shot in the game's final seconds, NorthWood took time out with :03.3, then called another after advancing the ball to midcourt. A long cross-court lob was caught by Ferrell, who was fouled by the Tigers in the process of trying to shoot. Ferrell made the first to put the Panthers up 31-30, but missed the second. Without a time out, Drew Jones grabbed the rebound and threw the ball the length of the floor, but it hit the backboard to end the game. Mydin Burgher led the Tigers with 16 points. The junior varsity also lost at NorthWood 53-36. Landon Kralis scored 14.
