The Tiger varsity baseball team dispatched Northridge on Wednesday, 11-1 in 5 innings in Middlebury. Warsaw Varsity Tigers got on the board with 3 runs in the top of the first inning after Grady Nelson was hit by a pitch, Kael Miller walked, and Quinton Brock scored after tagging up on a sacrifice fly. Warsaw added to their early lead with 3 more in the top of the second inning after Spencer Love grounded out, Brock singled down the left field line, and Logan Kim grounded out—each scoring one run. Warsaw tacked on 3 more runs the third inning on a fielder’s choice ground out by Love and a 2-run single by Brock. Mason O'Malley earned the win on the mound, giving up 4 hits and an unearned run over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Brody Heady led the way with three runs batted in for the Tigers. Brock and Rogan Bailey each collected two hits. The junior varsity lost to the Raiders 9-8. Northridge scored all of their runs in their final two at bats. Box scores for both games are attached. Next up for Warsaw Varsity Tigers is a game at Concord on Friday.
