The Warsaw Tigers closed out a productive stretch of matches in businesslike fashion Thursday night, defeating the Fort Wayne South Side Archers in four sets, 25-18, 25-18, 24-26, 25-14. The win improves Warsaw to 9-7 on the season and caps off a strong week of consistent play. From the opening serve, the Tigers established control, executing efficiently in both serve and attack while applying steady pressure at the net. Warsaw took the first two sets by identical 25-18 scores, showcasing a balanced offensive approach and disciplined defense. After dropping a tightly contested third set 24-26, the Tigers responded with authority. Warsaw left little doubt in the fourth, pulling away early and closing the match decisively with a 25-14 win. The Tigers’ offense was directed effectively by a two-setter system, as Patryck Bocianski tallied 16 assists to go along with 3 aces, while Mac Tucker added 17 assists and 2 aces. From the service line, Silas Hill made a significant impact with 4 aces, while also anchoring the defense with 12 digs. Logan Carl led the attack with 10 kills, while contributing across the board with 8 digs and 4 blocks. Cadyn Greer controlled the net defensively with 8 blocks and chipped in 5 kills, while Nolan Haussmann added 4 blocks and 2 kills. CJ Hutton contributed 2 kills, 2 blocks, and an assist, and Sam Bowers added 4 digs to support the back row effort. Overall, it was a complete team performance, with Warsaw taking care of business and finishing the week on a strong note. Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity squad battled in a three-set match but came up just short, falling 25-18, 22-25, 9-15. Despite the result, the Tigers showed resilience and continued growth, bringing their record to 9-5 on the season. Barrett Hodorek led the JV offense with 8 assists, while Matthew Pierce anchored the net with 3 blocks and added a dig defensively. Mason Silveus and Jonah Burgher paced the attack with 5 kills apiece, and Luis Neumann contributed efficient offense with 5 kills along with 2 blocks. Fisher Whitaker added presence from the service line and at the net with 2 aces and 2 blocks. The JV Tigers will wrap up their season next Thursday as they take on Northridge. The varsity Tigers now turn their attention to a longer preparation window as they gear up for their final home match of the season. Warsaw will host Northridge next Thursday for Senior Night, an opportunity to celebrate the program’s seniors and build momentum heading into the postseason.
