Kyle Hartman Selected as New Coach of Lady Tiger Basketball

By Roger Grossman | May 13, 2026 3:34 PM

The Warsaw Athletic Department will recommend Kyle Hartman as the seventh coach in the history of Lady Tiger Basketball. The Warsaw School Board will be in session Monday evening and Hartman is expected to be considered at that time. Hartman has been the head coach at Fairfield, where he went 60-18 in three seasons and never won less than 18 games in a season. The Lady Falcons went 20-7 this past season and lost in the 2A North Semi-State semi-finals to Connersville. Hartman informed the players at Fairfield of his decision after school this afternoon, and Warsaw Athletic Director Matt Binkerd and Assistant Athletic Director Michael Howk met with the returning Lady Tigers to inform them at virtually the same time. Hartman graduated from Fort Wayne Dwenger High School and has a Bachelor’s degree in Health/PE Bethel University (2020). “It was a tremendous opportunity for both my family and me, while also providing a new challenge professionally as a coach,” Hartman said after accepting the position. “I’m excited for the opportunity to build upon the strong tradition of success within this program.” Prior to leading the Lady Falcons, Hartman was a varsity assistant for the boys team, and before that coached the JV boys team at South Bend Riley and a freshman boys coach at St. Joe. Pending board approval, Hartman takes over for Lenny Krebs, who just finished his ninth season in Warsaw in February with a final record of 162-58. He announced he was retiring from coaching in April. Krebs graduated from Fairfield High School in 1991 and Grace College. A press conference followed by a meet-and-greet for Coach Hartman is expected to take place Wednesday at 6pm in the Tiger Den.
