Warsaw Community High School is pleased to announce Stan Gideon as its new Head Baseball Coach, pending WCS Board Approval. With over 30 years of Texas high school baseball experience, Gideon joins Warsaw with an impressive 452 career victories. Under his leadership, his teams made 21 state playoff appearances, with six advancing to regionals and one reaching the state tournament. He launched his career as an assistant baseball coach at Austin Westlake before taking the helm at several highly regarded Texas high schools, including Granbury, San Antonio Alamo Heights, Justin Northwest, Springtown, and San Angelo Central. Beyond baseball, he assisted with football, basketball, cross country, and tennis programs, and served as an athletic administrator for Springtown ISD from 2017 to 2023. Gideon is known for building successful programs, developing strong team cultures, and transforming historically underperforming teams into consistent winners. He consistently emphasizes character, pride, and leadership—values he looks forward to cultivating for Warsaw's baseball team, school, and community. He recently retired from the Texas public school system and is relocating to Indiana to be closer to his daughter’s family. “We are excited to welcome Stan Gideon and his family to the Warsaw Tiger family,” said Warsaw Community Schools Athletic Director Matt Binkerd. “Stan’s experience, leadership, knowledge of the game, and commitment to developing young people make him an excellent fit for Warsaw baseball. We believe he will bring a tremendous amount of energy and experience to our student-athletes and our baseball program.” Coach Gideon plans to arrive in Warsaw at the end of the month to meet the returning players and families. He is currently working on building a staff and will lead fall baseball in September and October.
