After a disappointing league season where Warsaw had two games won by forfeit, the Lady Tiger Rugby team started the playoffs by playing last year's state champions Grand Haven Buccaneers . Warsaw posted a 47-10 win to advance to the semi-state round . As usual the Tigers made a slow start allowing Grand Haven to score an early try taking them into a 5 point lead. Warsaw leveled the score almost immediately from the restart when freshman Alex Kellogg crashed over for her first Varsity try. This was converted by Luciana Viera to give the Tigers a narrow 2 point lead. The Tigers were soon back putting pressure on the Buccaneers try line. This pressure allowed Ruby Orozco to touch down with the conversion by Luciana Viera to make the score Tigers 14 Buccaneers 5. Grand Haven then got a line out near the Tigers try line and were able to score a try off the resulting maul to take their score to 10. The Tigers then started to move the ball wide which the Buccaneers had problems defending allowing Jewlelia Stavedahl to score a try converted again by Luciana. This made the score at the halftime break Tigers 21 Buccaneers 10. Warsaw dominated the second half as the Buccaneers forwards tired. Scoring 4 additional tries and 3 conversions to add 26 additional points to make the final score Warsaw 47 Grand Haven 10.
