Volleyball Continues Great Start, Beats Riley

The Warsaw Tiger boys volleyball team secured a hard-fought home victory over the South Bend Riley Wildcats on Tuesday night, overcoming a slow start to win in four sets: 19-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-17. With the win, Warsaw improves to 3-1 on the season and now looks ahead to a home matchup against DeKalb on Thursday in the Tiger Den. After dropping the opening set, the Tigers responded with strong play at the net and behind the service line. Miles Rager led the offensive charge with 14 kills, 5 blocks, and 7 digs, while Deniel Ruzza made key contributions with 17 digs and 6 kills. Andy Vass ran the offense efficiently, dishing out 25 assists while adding 10 digs. Defensively, Ricky Anacleto recorded 10 digs and 3 aces, while Logan Carl added 4 aces and 4 digs to keep the Wildcats off balance. Levi Brath chipped in with 4 kills to round out the Tigers' attack. The Warsaw JV squad also took care of business, sweeping South Bend Riley in two sets, 25-21, 25-17. Silas Hill led the way with 5 aces, 2 kills, and 4 digs, while Ryan Carnes contributed 6 assists in the win. Patryck Bocianski provided a spark with 4 digs and 3 aces, and David Hall powered the Tigers with 4 kills at the net.
