The Warsaw Tiger baseball team had a really big week this week. Warsaw beat Northridge Friday at home 8-4 to boost their Northern Lakes Conference record to 10-2 and their lead in the conference up to 2 full games with 2 games to play. They have guaranteed themselves of at least a share of the NLC title for a second straight season. Friday's win came two days after the Tigers beat Northridge at Tiger Field. Northridge Varsity Raiders tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a single by Ryan, and a passed ball. With the game tied 3-3 after 3 innings, the Tigers jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Wyatt Stapleton doubled to center field to give the Tigers the lead, then Logan Kim tripled to right field to put Warsaw up 2, and Quinton Brock grounded out to plate another run to make it 6-3. Warsaw added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning thanks to a Hunter Dippon solo home run to left field and run that scored on a wild pitch later in the frame. Kellan Bailey earned the win on the mound for Warsaw in relief. He scattered 2 hits and a run over 3 1/3 innings, striking out 7 and walking 1 Raider. Brock Bowser started on the mound for the Tigers, surrendering 5 hits and 3 runs (one earned) over 3 2/3 innings, fanning 6 and walking 3. Stapleton, Dippon, Oliver Nisen, and Kim each collected two hits for Warsaw. The JV team lost to the Raiders 13-3. The Tigers will travel to Frankfort Saturday.
