Warsaw's girls track & field team captured their 18th consecutive sectional title Tuesday night at the Fisher Field/Tiger Athletic Complex. The only time since 2007 that Warsaw did not win the girls sectional was 2020, which was the year that spring sports were cancelled because of COVID. Warsaw won 7 of the 11 running events and 3 field events to score 179 team points. Concord was 2nd with 84.5 and Northridge was 3rd with 80. Champions for Warsaw included Annabel Parker (100m hurdles, 300m hurdles), Eden Metz (1600m, 800m ), the 4 x 100m relay team of Addison Williams, Anna Stevens, Claire Walters and Camryn Burner, Burner (200m), the 4 x 400m relay team of Parker, Ella Laput, Hannah Fisher, and Metz, Leila Knepp (long jump), Cassie Jackson (discus) and Maggie Barnett (pole vault). Advancement: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place sectional winners in all individual events and relays plus any individual or relay team meeting the 3 Participant Standard in the sectional finals of their event. If the top 3 finishers plus 3 Participant Standard advancers in an event is less than 16, the next best performances from the corresponding sectionals shall be added to bring the total number of entrants to 16 in each event. An individual or relay team shall not advance to the regional from the sectional finals unless the time is recorded by fully automatic timing (FAT). Full results are attached.
