Two-sport athlete James Leiter has made his college choice. Leiter will attend Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, where he will throw for the Lakers' Track and Field team. James says he had heard of the school west of Grand Rapids, and knew of the success of their program. But he says his visit to campus is what made his decision easy. "After my visit, I left impressed by the coaches' approach," he says. "They take a progress-based approach, which means they want me to improve more than anything. They see me as a long-term project, and that's what I want." Leiter admits that he has a vision for throwing beyond college, but he doesn't know what that might mean yet. He's planning to study exercise science at GVSU with the goal of becoming an athletic trainer. Leiter was also an offensive lineman on the state runner-up football team.
